Speed-Up for iTunes App Reviews

I use MySpeed by Enounce for speeding up videos on the Internet, but I didnt have anything to speed up the programs I listened to on iTunes, until I got this. This speeds up the volume of whatever I listen to on iTunes, at whatever speed I choose and it works just fine. I dont use it that often, but for the times that I do, Im glad that I have it. Its worth the minimal price.

I took a shot on this program and tried it for about 5 minutes and gave up. The reverb on 1.5 and 2.0 speed is too distracting to listen to podcasts. The program does a poor job of recognizing when different speakers break in to speak so conversations are very garbled. If you are content with the iPhone speed-up routines you will be disapointed by Speed-Up on the Mac. BTW, does anyone know WHY Apple doesnt put the iPhone speed playback routines in Mac OS iTunes? Anyway, back to 1.0 speed for me. :-(

Im glad this was only 99 cents because this is one worthless app. It would be perfect if what I wanted was for it to continuously loop a few seconds of audio because thats exactly what this is. I really wanted something that would work within iTunes, and this Speed Up definitely was not the answer. I guess Ill just have to stick with playing podcasts in VLC. Funny, that software is free, and not only does the speed function actually work, but the sound quality stays the same, unlike Speed Up. What a waste of 99 cents. And no, its not user error. Im an IT professional and I know how to function around computers. One star is too many...

I listen to lectures from class, and the app works most of the time, but every now and again when I speed up the tracks, the volume drops even though I have it turned all the up on the mac, on itunes, and set the track to play at +100% of normal volume. Dunno what the issue is, but it makes it difficult to use for my purposes when it happens. One suggestion is it would be useful to be able to set your own times listed in the drop down menu instead of dragging the slider around every time you want to change it.

Please add the ability to speed up movies as well as music and podcasts.

This program does exactly what it says. Get it! Ive been using this since an early version, and sent my suggestions to Clemens for what Id like to see the program do. When the update came out it didnt work on my computer as I still use Lion (old macbook pro). I sent another email, and now the program works on Lion and it has the features I requested!! Kudos to you Clemens!

couldnt get it to work. Im using Itunes 11.0.5, the app keeps saying "Only works with 11.0.3 or higher" ...

iTunes 11.1 on OSX 10.8.4. The app doesnt do anything once started. When I select a speed other than 1.0 (default), the app icon changes to "Loading…" and never does anything else. Its a nice idea, but doesnt do what its supposed to do.

I love using this app, the update fixed any issues with 11.1 iTunes. I listen to a lot of podcasts and have the ability to speed up the playback saves me a lot of time. One of the best apps Ive purchased for music and music playback.

I wrote a previous review, which for some reason never appeared here, reporting this applications failure to work in iTunes 11.1 I also submitted a support request to the publisher. Apparently they listened and acted. All good now.

Simply put it does ABSOLUTLY NOTHING. Ive tried it on 5 different computers and it does NOT work on any of them. *Update: I have since gotten this app to work with a audio book, but the wont do anything when it comes to podcasts. The Developer needs to remove his claims in regards to podcasts from the app description. I have tried this app while listening to dozens of podcasts and it does nothing with any of them. The developer does respond to support requests, but cannot figure out why his own app does not work. From my corispondave I have learned that I have tested his app on more systems then has.

It’s my own fault; it says it right there up top, but I didn’t see it until I paid for it, and now when I try to uninstall the software, it says I don’t have the permissions to delete it. Please put up front, in caps, that it doesn’t work with Audible, because that’s a big motivator to buy this software, since neither Audible nor iTunes works properly with the audiobooks, and I was hoping for something that would work.

This app does what it says it will and it does it effectively. That said, I downloaded this to speed up the play-back of my biochem lectures so I wouldn’t have to sit for an entire hour to re-listen to an entire lecture. However, anything faster than 1.75x is choppy and 2x+ is nearly indistinguishable/inaduible. Again, it works perfectly and effectively but just know that there are limits to its power. I really like that the pictch of the professor doesn’t change with speed increase or decrease (I was worried about havign to listen to Alvin and the Chipmunks at increased speeds). I have also played with my music using this app and have been pleasantly amused with the results… of course the humor I find in messing with my music could be the 2am studying binge speaking...

For some reason it will only work when I play music and does NOT work for podcasts (aka audio lectures) which is why I downloaded it.

I listen to podcasts on my iPhone at 2x and I was looking to emulate that functionality on iTunes. This app works for that purpose …. errr…. kinda. A few things I have noticed: First, when I am listening at a faster speed, it almost sounds like the audio is playing twice in very quick succession. It is not smooth the way that things sound on iOS. Second, if I start opening settings dialogues (or whatever) in iTunes while I’m listening then the audio will keep skippng back by a few seconds for no reason. I say two starts because at the end of the day, the app works … but just barely.

I love it. I need to speed up with my audio lecture and it fit perfect. I would appreciate it if this app support a shortcut to adjust playback speed

Did not work for audible audiobook.

I used this app before for podcasts and now after a few mos. it no longer works. I’ve tried redownloading and nada! Would not recommend it.

Would be good without playback. PLEASE FIX ASAP!!!

I bought this because I saw there were people who claimed this worked for audiobooks. IT DOES NOT. Don’t waste your money on this.
